10:45PM - Steampunk 3
Here is the next image in my steampunk series, for once I got to get out of the house and go outdoors, though I am still waiting for my norman battery pack to arrive in the mail. (not too bad with just a reflector in the midday sun!)

5:53PM - Reworking the old
I was a bit bored again last night, so decided to rework an old picture I had from my first semster at school which was a bit bland and uninspiring...
( new old pictureCollapse )
I am a bit happier with the new one, am pleased with the new technique I learned from a magazine tutorial. yeay.

Today I wandered the farmer's market and took lots of pictures. Here I am only posting the mushrooms as those are the only ones I have started to image. More to come...

I usually don't post and have been more of a lurker, that being said, I have decided to start posting more. I have been home sick for a couple of days and am REALLY bored, so I decided to have fun with my camera as I am between projects. I hope this LJ cut thing works...

I have a few questions related to standard 35mm photography. I'm not sure if this is the right group to ask my question in (in fact, I'm going to cross-list this query), but perhaps someone can help me or direct me to a good photography forum where this kind of thing is discussed.
My problem is this: Two years ago, I dropped off about ten rolls of film to a photo-finishing lab. I usually develop my own B&W, but I was rushed at the time. A "friend" offered to pick up the negs & prints for me (since I was leaving town), so I gave her the $$ for it, and planned on getting the stuff back the next week.
She and I got in a fight over something trivial. To get back at me, she refused to give me my property back. I had to take her to court to get my stuff back (just happened this Tuesday).
Two of the B & W rolls I got back from her are purple. I believe this means they are under-fixed. They also have scratches on them (done by her, but they don't appear to be too deep in the negatives).
So, what I'm wondering is this:
1) Could I simply re-fix these negatives; just put them through another fixing to take care of the problem? Has it been too long? Might I damage the negatives in doing this now?
2) Is there a way to work restore the negatives so that the scratches aren't prominent? I know I can photoshop them out, but I'd rather fix the negatives, if possible.
3) Would I possibly make the scratches worse/more prominent by re-fixing the negatives? Do I have to worry about the negatives picking up all sorts of additional contamination since they haven't been stored properly (would re-fixing them seal them in)?
Thanks in advance for any feedback! And I'm sorry if this isn't the right group for photography advice...

This was from a bodypainting shoot with my friend and poet Maria Alexander. We did this one a few years ago in Hollywood, California, woohoo. Maria is quite the author, so here you see her painted up as a sort of vampire floral vixen of sorts. I dunno, what do you think?
( Click here to see Maria all crazy coolCollapse )
In any case, I hope you like it. I did touch it up briefly with some of my new skills. if you are not familiar with Maria's fascinating works her website is http://www.thehandlesspoet.com/

7:07PM - panokitten (glow)
This is from the Piano Kitten series. The kittens were all under 7 weeks so it was an adventure to try and do a productive shoot. Fun times though.

It is the World Body Painting community:
I made it so i would have a place to post the various contests, festivals and events as well as hopefully get others to contribute, so if you are a bodypainter, makeup artist, model, or just a fan, feel free to join. This group has always been supportive and i hope by providing more specific communities we can all internetwork as well.
